| Jump |
Jump : "To defy gravity momentarily by springing with one's legs, or driving a vehicle from a ramp. Things may be said to jump on their own, but some form of force is always involved to create this effect. Usually done with some purpose in mind, most commonly to reach a new ledge or grab something higher than the extent of one's arm (or mouth, if you have 4 legs). Conceptually, one can be said to jump from one idea to the next, presumably skipping over information that is perceived as unimportant or irrelevant to one's purpose. In this way, the 'jump' always leads to some goal, and describes a 'means of getting there'. " |
