This is one type of spell that I have never chosen to apply in my deck-building, so far. What turns me off about it, is that it has a high mana-cost, and must be held and prepared for, where the proper situation would usually be very unpredictable. It acts like a counter-spell - But, high-cost counter-spells are something that I've never used either. I would usually never go above a 3-cost counter, because you must keep too much available mana. My style is based on efficiency, and just letting my mana go unused for turns at a time seems like a poor strategy, to me. In principle, I find that I vie for victory by constantly doing something. This spell requires that you create too much of a setup, and would only apply to a certain type of spell - Select instants and sorceries that declare a target. You're usually looking at black and red for this sort of thing, so I might use this as a side-board option, but I would have to practice and build more decks with it to really know the possibilities. |
