Ah, one of my favorite abilities. Think of it this way - The best

damage-dealing spells in the game are creatures. A creature is a

permanent, and can repeatedly strike the opponent for damage

equal to its power each turn. The most common problem you'll run

into with this is a block from the opposition. The best remedy is to

fly right over your opponents creatures, and this can win a game

very quickly. If your opponent was sloppy, and didn't plan for all

predicaments, you might find this opening left for your advantage.

So, what should you make fly? The most obvious application would

be anything with a high power rating. Typically, a converted mana

cost for a creature is higher with fliers, weighted for the ability.

You could maximize your damage potential by taking the strength

of creatures that typically dwell on the ground, and give them a lift.

In general, this is a good way of dealing damage directly to the

opponent, and sometimes will activate a special reward. Newer

versions of "flight" are usually in the form of an aura enchantment,

and can be destroyed more easily than the artifact, which is kept

separate from your creature. Artifacts are rarely targeted in the

new game, and most players won't be able to destroy your device.
