This card will necessarily combo with a life-gaining deck - You can use lifelink creatures; or

is that the color of your mana won't matter, and this card gives you an 8/8 for 7 generic

mana. While this is an older card, and might be considered under-powered by today's

standards, the mana cost, untap cost, and special ability are actually more well-calculated

and reasonable. It still can be utilized for potent combinations - Take green for example: If

you were to make plenty of mana for yourself, and use larger, trampling creatures, along

side your colossus, you would have an 8/8 that isn't really blockable, because all the

trample power on the side demands more attention. In older sets, you might have used

Beacon of Immortality, to send your life total through the roof, before laying the hammer

down. Strategies will change as the game evolves, but always remember to evaluate the

basic mechanics in a real way - The worst thing about this game is illegitimate combos.

Natural combinations can be much more reliable, and no one will ever doubt your integrity

for using one. It's all the little shysters, who only look for loop-holes, who ruin everyone's fun.
