Hi! Welcome to the School of Magic, my combination store and strategy guide to Magic: The Gathering. For every card that is marked with an * in the store, you may click the card's image to enter another page, which will describe my personal insights into that card's strategic applications. More than providing a spoiler about specific combinations of cards, or the most popular hacks that players commonly use to win, my guide will give you a better idea of how to construct decks using fundamental mechanics - Everything that I build focuses on versatility, efficiency, and natural combinations. To better exhibit the type of deck construction that I am promoting, I will also provide a page dedicated to some of my favorite deck designs, that I have constructed for play in the new online program, "Magic Arena". You'll find that my designs will create situations that cause you to think, and experience your own ability to problem-solve, inevitably enhancing your skill level. Whenever I construct a deck, I try to make sure that the deck will always, at least, provide a chance at success. With as many over-powered cards as there are in the game right now, there will be a lot of insurmountable situations; but given random effect, it may be possible to navigate any situation, if you have the right tools. This will be an on-going project, so check back frequently for new additions to the store, and new deck designs. Ultimately, the goal of this site will be to positively influence the game's future, making it more of an honest, legitimate competition, that truly tests mind against mind. So, if you're sick of losing to random effect, sick of tedious games that get determined by a loop-hole, and sick of decks that automatically beat you in just a few turns, please join me in an effort against these "titans" of MTG, and start developing your own unique and constantly evolving strategy today! After all, if the game ever WERE revised, such that skill were clearly highlighted, you'd need to know how to do more than rely on a "pro" design, that fitted into one of the typical categories. It is a definite disadvantage to have it that everyone memorized your decklist ;) |
