2/13/19 - "The Death Star" Is the lack of creative people in the world the result of a natural incapacity, or do they just not care? Your immediate reaction might be, "There are LOTS of creative people!"... While there are many people who work in creative fields, the amount of genuine creativity is stifled by ideological expectation. Look at the newer housing developments, for example. All we get anymore is a cookie-cutter design, because it is economical and reliable. Older houses are interesting, but they're old. There may be new developments that were personal designs by the owners, but they aren't nearly as artistic as homes from 50+ years ago. Look at the record industry: A certain sound is expected by the artist, or they won't get any respect from the business. Instead of an honest evaluation of artisitic integrity, we're getting a business plan from some uncreative asshole. In the past, trends dictated by the artists were more interesting, but suffocating ideology has taken over, and what we get now is not inspired writing. Bad musicians took charge over the industry, and now the industry expects the sound of a mediocre leading-musician. I am written off a "out-of-style", a passe trend, but the truth is, my music is inspired work that may somewhat reflect the "grunge" era, but is undeniably unique. Current culture and ideology permeate every possible creative venue of life. You might think that I am bashing my creative peers as untalented individuals, but the truth is, I believe everyone has a much higher potential than they are currently exhibiting. There really IS a star inside us all, but none of you show it. I think this is because culture is sick, and no one even WANTS to be genuinely creative! You all seem to like being bad imitations of one another, and, I imagine, this is the source of cultural depression. You might think of me as the king if the "suicide club", but I'm actually a lot happier, and have a higher potential than anyone else. |
