7/12/17 - "Conscious Evolution" You have all heard that a drug like nicotine is very much a physiological addiction. I have verified this as true from my own experience - I was only able to quit smoking (4 years, some e-cigarette use, now don't use one) when i tried using an e-cigarette... and I clearly felt a replacement of the physical addiction to real cigarettes that allowed me to become independent. I always believed (based on my own theory) that the addiction was primarily psychological, and the e-cigs probably wouldn't work. I still believe the addiction is psychological - but that a physiological response triggers a psychological response, the psychological component being dominant. But, that was just a mess of scientific jargon! I realized today, that psychology and physiology are the same monster. They are both physical processes. Consciousness (the psychology) is just as physical as the body. A physiological response from nicotine use connects to the psychology (your consciousness), and you will obey an urge to smoke - your only hope of quitting is to master your mind. The mind can control psychology - consciousness simply operates, but the mind knows what it is doing. Without using your mind, e-cigarettes will still not allow you to quit smoking, it simply replaces the real cigarette with a fake one to mimic the physiological response. Perhaps, then, addictions must be mitigated with therapies. But, more importantly, what would prime your MIND to control addiction? The e-cigarette is just a trick. Tricks don't always work, and when they do, they needed help from the mind. How can one condition their mind, such that they become addicted to nothing, while using anything that they found of benefit? We know not to smoke, because it is extremely detrimental to the lungs. We know not to inject, because it is extremely dangerous and potentially fatal. But, why should the best substances not be ingested responsibly? All things in moderation, without any risk. Don't follow the crowd of fools who believed in their ancestors who administered drugs to theirselves in irresponsible ways. This is the trick that I would employ. Substances become dangerous when they are maximized for their physiological potential, but this isn't necessary! The mind will have much more control over the psyche and body if it disallows itself from using a drug with reckless abandon. Drug addicts give a bad image to drug users, and we inherit their reputation, whether we misuse drugs ourselves or not. People have seized the opportunity to point out that drug addicts have lost control of theirselves, and claim that drugs are a scourge with no redeeming value. We should not have to suffer for the mistakes of our ancestors. We must show that we can use all kinds of drugs, and are responsible, ethical pillars of a high society - and that our way of life is superior because of our use of drugs. The idea of drugs being the cause of anyone's problems is a trite, inane diatribe against human nature and our right to inherit the earth, and all its gifts. Give no one any basis for claiming that you are "out of control" or "mentally-ill". Simply prove them wrong, while casually disobeying them. Produce great works of art, keep good physical health, and learn new things constantly. Human beings are overdue to evolve, and we must lead that conscious evolution by proving our way of life superior. Let them die in their pitiful sorrows. Let them destroy theirselves. Let us show them that all the things that they claim of the drug-using community are actually the horrible truth about theirselves! |
